A.K.A. the Kansas Statehouse the state capitol in Topeka was built just after the Civil War in 1866. The elegant building wasn't officially completed until 1903 but recent renovations and restorations ending in 2014 had a price tag of over 300 million dollars. The dome originally featured paintings of nude women which were sadly painted over. Guided tours are offered Monday through Friday at no cost.
