Description:
Built by an immigrant from Holland this traditional Dutch windmill is a historical fixture in Wamego. Almost a century before John Schonoff built this windmill using the knowledge he had brought over with him from the Old World. He forged and pieced together many of the mechanical parts of the mill, while the stone was quarried by John Chadwick. Being a talented artist and stonemason Chadwick also fashioned the statue of Ceres, the goddess of grain. After it was built the mill was used to grind flour. The entire park is quite picturesque - a great spot for photos!
