World's Largest Czech Egg

This oversized decorative egg commemorates the city's large Czech population; Wilson is, in fact, called the "Czech Capital of Kansas". The 22-foot "Kraslice" features a traditional Czech design created by local artist Christine Slechta. The egg and the gazebo under which it sits are all made of materials from Kansas. Every year in the last week of July, the town of Wilson also holds an annual celebration of Czech heritage. (Photo by Kindsay Judith)
