Description:

Wacinton is the giant, carved Indian head of Chief Paducah of whom the town is the namesake. An entire redwood tree was used by artist Peter Toth to make the sculpture and the name "Wacinton" honors Paducah's people - the Chickasaw tribe. They lived and hunted in this area until the Jackson Purchase of 1818.
