Description:
Casamento’s Restaurant opened in 1919 on Magazine Street, founded by Italian immigrant Joe Casamento and still run by his family today. Known for its distinctive tile interior and long tradition of serving fresh Gulf seafood, the restaurant has become a New Orleans institution. Guests come for its famous oysters served raw, fried, stewed, or charbroiled, along with the popular oyster loaf made with thick pan bread. Other favorites include seafood gumbo, fried shrimp, soft shell crab, and classic spaghetti and meatballs that honor the founder’s heritage.
