Description:

The Beauregard-Keyes House, located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, is a historic landmark with a rich and varied past. Built in 1826, this Greek Revival-style home was once the residence of Confederate General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard. Later, it became the home of American author Frances Parkinson Keyes, who restored the property and wrote many of her novels there. The house has witnessed the ebb and flow of New Orleans' history, from its military significance during the Civil War to its role as a cultural hub under Keyes' stewardship. Today, it serves as a museum showcasing both military and literary history, while preserving the grandeur of early 19th-century architecture.
