Description:
Built in 1835 to guard Cape Porpoise Harbor, the Goat Island Lighthouse is still active today. The lighthouse is open during the summer months but is accessible only by boat. You can rent a kayak and row yourself there or you can simply enjoy the view from the end of Pier Road. If the keepers are home, they will be glad to give you a tour but be mindful that this is an active lighthouse and a private residence.
