Description:
A paved trail runs along the Potomac River with a stop at Catoctin Tunnel just south of Bald Eagle Island Campsite. In the 1800s, two railroad companies operated in this area - the B&O and the C&O. As it was a tight squeeze to have two railroads side by side, the tunnel was built to ease the passage. Park at the Point of Rocks lot and the tunnel will be just under two miles north.
