Description:
Straddling the Patapsco River the original settlement was established in 1810, flourishing around a textile mill. Several events conspired to cause the town to go into decline. Since 1968 it has remained empty. A few old vehicles and the ruins of Saint Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church are all that remain; the latter burning down in 1927 after being struck by lightning.
