Fort Frederick

This former military fort was built between 1756 and 1758. It has seen military action in the French and Indian War and the Civil War. Much of the fort has been restored to look like the original. Built on the Potomac River, the state park is tailored towards visitors with a playground, canoeing, picnicking areas, hiking trails, and interpretive education.
