Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is located within the boundaries of Druid Hill Park. Currently, over 200 species reside on 135 acres of land - birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibeans. It is also has successfully bred the African penguin and has one of the largest colonies in all of North America. Unique to this zoo are several varieties of "behind-the-scenes" tours where people can have personalized, private tours tailored to their interests. Not so fast - they run a few hundred bucks for a handful of people and last a mere half-hour!
