Description:
The Buttonball Tree in Sunderland, Massachusetts is a massive American sycamore that has stood for more than 350 years, making it one of the oldest and most iconic trees in New England. Towering over 100 feet tall with an enormous trunk and sprawling canopy, it’s often called the widest tree east of the Mississippi and is the largest of its kind in the state. Once part of the region’s original forests, this historic tree now draws visitors from around the world who come to marvel at its size and centuries-old presence.
