Description:

Of 1,500 souls who died on the sinking Titanic, only 340 bodies were recovered. Many cities, like Springfield, erected memorials to those who died and were lost in the depths of the ocean. The memorial is a five-ton block of granite, about nine feet long and five feet high. Be sure to look at both sides of the marker as one side is etched with a beautiful picture of the ill-fated ocean liner.
