Historic Deerfield

A simply gorgeous open-air museum is a wonderful historical experience. Beautiful farms and rolling meadows, people dressed in costume, cute cows, and informative demonstrations of cooking, pottery, and weaving as it was done in the Colonial era make you feel as if you stepped into a wormhole going back to the past. The complex includes a modern museum, 11 historic house museums, and a visitors center. Although the regular season is from April to November, there are special winter events that you won't want to miss - and seeing Historic Deerfield under a blanket of snow is a special treat!
