Old Sturbridge Village

This living museum attempts to preserve the New England way of life from 1790 to 1830 by recreating it. An impressive 200 acres, the village has 59 antique buildings, three water-powered mills, and a working farm. The museum is open year round, although the days and hours vary. But being open every season allows visitors to experience how hard the lives were of colonials, especially the harsh winters (even for those who were accustomed to European winters).
