Plymouth Rock

Saves: 35

The year 1620 is one of those dates that is burned into the brain of every American. Interestingly, the disembarkation site wasn't named Plymouth Rock by the first arriving Pilgrims - the name and its rock seem to have come into existence in 1715. The surprisingly dinky rock, with the date engraved upon it, is kept enclosed in a wrought iron cage much like a pet rock. The shore and the columned memorial are pretty and make this a serene place to spend a day.
