Description:
This prepossessing sandstone observation tower was named for the many bards who liked to sit and ponder here for inspiration. The Harvard-educated Frederick Goddard Tuckerman was probably the most frequent visitor; he was known to have written his romantic sonnets here naming his spot "Poet's Seat."
