Description:
What looks like a man dressed in witch garb is simply Roger Conant in his traditional Puritan outfit. He helped to establish several Massachusetts communities, including that of the infamous Salem. He was known for his effective leadership skills and his shrewd dealings, expanding the Puritan colonies and helping them to thrive in a completely foreign territory. He died in Massachusetts in 1679, more than 50 years after his arrival from England.
