Description:
Amore da Roma in Detroit traces its roots to 1890 when the original Roma Café began serving Italian food to workers and visitors in the Eastern Market district, eventually becoming one of the city's oldest and most cherished restaurants. After Roma Café closed in 2017, longtime chef Guy Pelino reopened it as Amore da Roma while preserving much of the classic atmosphere and menu. Today the restaurant continues to offer traditional Italian favorites, with popular dishes including the Roma tossed salad, linguine with clams, fettuccine Alfredo, hearty meatballs in red sauce, eggplant Parmesan, fried calamari, and sausage with provolone.
