Awakon Park, privately owned and beautifully maintained, is home to remarkable iron sculptures created by Moran Iron Works of Onaway. The park also serves as a historical journey through Onaway's past, with remnants of the American Rim/Lobdell Company, which once produced wooden bicycle rims and steering wheels for the emerging auto industry in the early 20th century. It was during this period that the slogan "Onaway Steers the World" originated.
