Description:

Belle Isle, located in the midst of the Detroit River, is a sprawling, romantic park that seems so far away from the nearby urban world. The Belle Isle Zoo has been overrun by trees and wildlife in a landscape that time forgot. It's probably for the better - animals used to be kept in concrete-floored cages in 1947 instead of simulated natural habitats.
