Haunted St Ann's Cemetery

Pretty and serene by day this old cemetery turns creepy in the waning light. One of the legends is of the headless carriage driver. Apparently the stone archway was built to accommodate a horse-driven hearse. However, extra height for the driver was not considered and thus it is said that one unfortunate man met his grisly end at this cemetery. Mackinac Island has done its best to profit off of the legend offering a tour called "The Haunts of Mackinac" as well as the Mackinac City Haunted House. The island which is in Lake Huron is only accessible by ferry.
