Description:
The Potter Park Zoo opened in 1915 and began with a herd of donated elk. Today, it is the oldest public zoo in Michigan and is home to over 160 species of animals. It is a world-class zoological research center as well, one of the 19 international locations to have a post-doctoral veterinary residency program.
