Description:
It has guided ships on Lake Huron since 1876, standing 67 feet high at the end of a sand spit. The lighthouse is very important as navigating this part of the lake is very hazardous. The picturesque building in its beautiful surroundings has been the subject of many photographers and needlepointers. The lighthouse and store are open seasonally so check the Michigan.gov website for more details. A Michigan State Parks pass is required to enter. The pass and the lighthouse tours cost a fee - purchase details are also on the website.
