The tower was built in 1890 probably with more innocent intentions. But fast forward more than a hundred years and the Ypsilanti Water Tower is the winner of the World's Most Phallic Building Contest. And, there is an urban legend attached to it that says if a virgin ever graduates from Eastern Michigan University, the tower will crumble to the ground. How times change.
