Also known as the Aerial Bridge or Aerial Ferry Bridge, the Aerial Lift Bridge is a landmark in the port city of Duluth, Minnesota. In 1905 it was the first of two transporter bridges that were ever constructed in the United States. The span was converted in 1929-30 to the uncommon vertical lift bridge and it continues to be in operation today. The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 1973.
