Description:

The Bean and Bear Lakes Loop via the Superior Hiking Trail near Silver Bay, Minnesota is a moderately challenging hike that winds roughly 6–7 miles through rugged North Shore terrain. The trail climbs over rocky ridges and through dense forest, rewarding hikers with sweeping overlooks of the deep-blue Bean and Bear Lakes below. With just over 1,000 feet of elevation gain, it offers a satisfying mix of climbs, descents, and scenic viewpoints, typically taking around three to four hours to complete. Considered one of the most scenic sections of the Superior Hiking Trail, it’s especially stunning in the fall when the surrounding hills burst into vibrant color.
