Description:

Frank Lloyd Wright designed this (Phillips 66) gas station in Cloquet, Minnesota. The R.W. Lindholm Service Station's design features garage skylights to let in the natural sunlight and a small observation deck that overlooks the St. Louis River. Based on Wright's Broadacre City plan which was presented in his 1932 book, "The Disappearing City," the station and observation deck became the station's centerpiece and gas was dispensed by hoses extending down from a canopy instead of the typical gas pumps we know of so well today.
