Jay Cooke State Park

Jay Cooke State Park, located near Carlton in northeastern Minnesota, covers over 8,800 acres along the St. Louis River, offering a picturesque landscape with rugged terrain, deep gorges, and scenic river views. The park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, providing various activities such as fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and mountain biking. Notable features include the iconic swinging bridge that spans the river, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings. The park holds historical significance tied to the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), whose work in the 1930s included building trails, bridges, and other structures.
