Northernmost Point of the Contiguous US

The northernmost point stands out as a geographical anomaly, being the sole location in the continental United States situated north of the 49th Parallel. While technically belonging to Minnesota, it lacks a land connection to the rest of the state. This 116 square mile expanse is included in the United States due to a historical misunderstanding of the Mississippi River's source location and an error made by the initial mapmakers in the region.
