Surly Brewing Co., founded in 2005 by Omar Ansari in Minneapolis, MN, quickly gained a reputation for its bold and innovative craft beers. The brewery's flagship beer, Furious, helped ignite the craft beer scene in Minnesota, leading to the "Surly Bill" in 2011, which allowed breweries to sell pints of their beer on-site. In 2014, Surly opened a new destination brewery in Minneapolis, featuring a beer hall, restaurant, and event space, solidifying its status as a cornerstone of the local brewing community.
