Description:
• PERMANENTLY CLOSED •
Three rough-hewn wooden pillars in Canal Park has dozens of colorful padlocks affixed to it. At one point there were hundreds, but they were removed by authorities to preserve the integrity of the bridge. How the tradition started is unknown, but today it is a symbol of couples "locking" in their love. It might be hard to find free parking; there are a couple of paid parking lots and paid street parking available nearby. Make the most of your parking fee and take a stroll on Lake Walk or visit attractions such as Fountain of the Wind and grounded ship outside of the Lake Superior Marine Museum.
