World's Largest Loon

This 20-foot tall loon was built in the early 1960s and was paid for by the Vergas Fire Department in dedication to a deceased postmaster Edward (Ewald G.) Krueger, who lived in town and served from 1933 until his death in 1962. The loon overlooks both the North Side of Long Lake and their annual "Looney Daze" festival which is held in August.
