The American writer Eudora Welty lived here for almost 80 years. Originally built in 1925 by her parents it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2004. The garden has made its way into Eudora Welty's writings with its varieties of camellias and cereus plants. House tours are given at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM and cost $10 per adult. You also have the option of touring the visitor center and the gardens for free at your own pace.
