Longwood

Construction on this gorgeous antebellum mansion started in 1960 but was never completed due to the Civil War. Only the basement was finished while the upper rooms remained unfinished. The Nutt family who had built the home lived in the lavishly appointed basement until the 20th century. Guided tours are 30 minutes long starting on the half hour from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. Admission is $18 per person. After get lunch at the Carriage House Restaurant which specializes in shrimp and Creole dishes.
