Pekin Noodle Parlor opened in 1911 in Uptown Butte and is recognized as the oldest continuously operating Chinese restaurant in the United States. Founded by Hum Yow and Tam Kwong Yee, it has remained in the Tam family for five generations while preserving its historic second floor setting filled with private curtained booths. The restaurant still serves classic Chinese American dishes that date back to its earliest years. Popular favorites include Chop Suey, Chow Mein, and Egg Foo Young which continue to draw visitors from around the world.
