Ringing Rocks

Saves: 30

Only some of the rocks make detectable musical tones but the cause is not exactly known. In 1965, scientists attempted to find the reason by crushing and slicing the rocks and found that all of the rocks here ring although at varying levels and frequencies. One theory as to their resonant qualities has to do with the yo-yo-like freezing and thawing that helped to form this area. Taking the rocks out of the state park is illegal and it wouldn't be worth committing a crime anyway - the rocks lose their magical quality when they are removed from the site.
