Description:

The Joslyn Art Museum, often called “The Joslyn,” is the largest fine arts museum in Nebraska, established in 1931 when Sarah H. Joslyn gifted it to Omaha in memory of her husband George A. Joslyn. Its encyclopedic collection of over 12,000 works spans 5,000 years of human creativity, with strengths in American and European art, Western and Indigenous art, as well as Asian and contemporary pieces.
Following a transformative two-year, $100 million renovation, the museum reopened in September 2024 featuring the striking 42,000 square foot Rhonda & Howard Hawks Pavilion designed by Snøhetta, an enhanced visitor experience, fully reinstalled collections, new exhibitions, and revitalized sculpture gardens, all while continuing its tradition of free general admission.
