Description:

The barren, red landscape is so much like what we imagine another planet to look like and thus it has made appearances in sci-fi movies such as "Total Recall," "Transformers," and "Star Trek." Most notably Captain Kirk met his end here. The monolithic sandstone elephantine formation with a trunk-like arch is visible from the road. Park at the east park entrance and walk about 10 minutes to reach the rock.
