Description:

Lovelock Cave, located in Nevada, is a significant archaeological site once used by the Northern Paiutes. This cave housed thousands of artifacts, including the famous Tule Duck Decoys, preserved for over 2,000 years. Rediscovered by guano miners in 1911, the cave has revealed items such as tools, clothing, and decoys, making it a vital site for understanding early North American cultures. Today, visitors can explore the cave via the Lovelock Cave Backcountry Byway.
