Metropolis Ghost Town

Metropolis Ghost Town is yet another sad tale of a ruined prospects in the Old West. In 1909, Metropolis was going to be a successful farming community. Problems with irrigation proved to be disastrous for the budding community. In later years, the rest of the inhabitants either moved out, or perished from a typhoid epidemic. Today, you will only see the brick ruins of a school and hotel. The old cemetery is home to the only inhabitants of Metropolis. (Photo by Steve E)
