Description:

The Old Mormon Fort is part of Old Las Vegas Mormon State Historic Park. The fort is the first structure built (in 1895) by people of European heritage that would, 50 years later, become what we know as Las Vegas. This is the only U.S. state park that houses the first building ever built in a city. The fort has been restored to its original historical appearance while other structures have been reconstructed using the best archeological and historical information available. A visitor center is also on site to explain the history of the fort.
