Tonopah Historic Mining Park

Halfway between Reno and Las Vegas is the old silver mine of Tonopah. The ore produced has a value of over a billion dollars today! The tour is fascinating and costs a nominal fee, but there are also special events held occasionally - such as the Mining Championships and Blacksmithing Classes.
