During the last Ice Age a glacier of immense size and incredible strength decapitated a mountain top miles away from Madison. The mountain top traveled on the glacier and finally was deposited in its current resting place. This granite monolith measures 23 feet high (although 12 feet of it is buried in the ground), 83 feet long, and 37 feet wide.
