Mt Washington Auto Road

This road has a long history - completed and opened to the public in 1861. You do have to pay - it's a toll road - but you get a nifty little sticker that reads, "THIS CAR CLIMBED MT. WASHINGTON." It's only open during the warmer months and only during daylight hours. You can drive yourself or purchase a guided tour with a more experienced mountain driver.
