Open year-round, the Basin Cascade Trail is an easy, 2.6-mile roundtrip hike that also includes a view of the waterfall. The Basin is actually a huge granite pothole carved out by a moving ice sheet about a million years ago. The clear water rushes around the basin although in winter snow and ice make the trail more difficult.
