Description:
USS New Jersey is America's most decorated battleship and the second of such ships to be named after the state of New Jersey. The New Jersey earned more combat battle stars than the three other Iowa class battleships. During the Vietnam War, this battleship was the only battleship which provided gunfire support. The New Jersey was decommissioned in 1991 after serving 21 years in the active fleet. She was donated to her Home Port Alliance in Camden, New Jersey, and became a museum ship in October 2001.
