Located in Vineland, New Jersey the Palace of Depression was built by an eccentric former Alaskan gold miner named George Daynor who lost his fortune in the Wall Street Crash of 1929. His palace was made of junk and it was referred to as "The Strangest House in the World" and the "Home of Junk." In 1964, Daynor died a pauper and afterwards the Palace was destroyed by a fire. It has since gone through restoration and continues to be rebuilt to this day!
