Description:

City of Rocks State Park consists of large rock sculpture-like formations, boulders that rise as high as 40 feet. The sculptor was a volcanic eruption 34.9 million years ago! The results today are the results of a million years of erosion. The park is open all year and provides walking areas as well as as hiking, rock climbing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, and a desert botanical garden. There's also a visitor center. The park is visited by nearly 50,000 people annually.
