Historic Fort Craig

Saves: 16
Check-ins: 4
It's hard to believe that this was once a small, enclosed city - where soldiers lived and worked. Built in 1854, this fort stood sentinel on the west bank of the Rio Grande. Part of the Bureau of Land Management, this is now a favorite spot for hikers, photographers, and picnickers. Only wall remnants of the old fort remain but some recreations have been built to mimic the way of life for U.S .soldiers during the mid 1800s.
